Company News August 2007 - Cybertania Inc. goes Green (Homepage remains gray)
We have conducted a carbon audit to identify and reduce our expenditure of electricity and gasoline. For what we could not reduce, we have purchased annual matching carbon offsets from CarbonFund.org.
This money will go to fund renewable energy, education, and
reforestation in an effort to offset the damage caused by the burning of fossil
fuels. June 2007 - Cybertania Inc. Websites Surpass 1 Million Visitors Per Day
We are pleased to announce that the websites owned and
operated by Cybertania Inc. now receive a total of over one million unique
visitors daily. March 2006 - Cybertania Inc. is approved for Dual TRUSTe Privacy Seals We are one of the first companies to be awarded dual certificates from TRUSTe for both Web Privacy and E-Mail Privacy for our websites. After a rigorous review process, TRUSTe has determined that our privacy policies and e-mail practices are among the best on the Internet.
It should be noted that our e-mail policy will remain
unchanged: We do not send any commercial e-mail to anyone for any reason. We
only e-mail our current customers with newsletters and website updates every
several months - in accordance with the strictest e-mail privacy policy on the
Internet, now certified by TRUSTe. September 2004 - Microsoft, Amazon file lawsuit against Cybertania Inc. Update: This matter has been resolved to the satisfaction of all parties. Our response: We believe that a former advertising affiliate of a website owned by Cybertania Inc. sent unsolicited commercial e-mail promoting that website without our knowledge or consent. We believe that these e-mails that were sent over one year ago may have infringed on the rights of Microsoft and Amazon, which triggered the lawsuit against Cybertania Inc. We have a tremendous amount of respect for Microsoft and Amazon and applaud them in their fight against spam. We are happy to give them our full cooperation in this investigation. It should be noted that the Microsoft Press Release mentions illegal "phishing" and other forms of online fraud in reference to lawsuits against other companies that have no ties to us. Please make no mistake: Cybertania Inc, and its employees have never engaged in any sort of fraud or illegal activity.
